Implementation intention

» Get your audience to articulate their intentions » Prompt people to think about when, where and how they will make this into an action » Ask them to write down their plan or share it with a friend

Research. During the 2008 US presidential elections, researchers found that voting turnout increased by 4.2% when citizens made a voting plan. Asking these three questions made people more likely to vote: (1) when they would vote, (2) where they would be going to the voting place from, and (3) what they would be doing immediately prior to voting.
